White Privilege is thinking that the movie 42 is “just another, all white people are evil” movie and not seeing how its a movie about an African American icon. White Privilege is taking a Jackie Robinson biopic and making it about white peoples feelings. White Privilege is being offended because a movie is showcasing how your ancestors treated mine.

I am a Cajun. And I am white. My people were dumped here just like African Americans were. We never looked down upon them, in fact, we embraced them. My grandfather’s grandfather refused to fight in the Civil War because he had no dog in the fight, and was harrassed and arrested but stood his ground. That doesn’t sound like White Privilege to me…it looks like a man being a man regardless of his color. White Privilege is another blanket statement that is widely overused, like Rape Culture. It’s an unfair stereotype that is kind of the point of those terms in the first place which makes them an oxymoron. Not every white person is a bigot. Not every man is a snarling beast looking to feast upon the genitals of a poor helpless woman. If there is one thing this world needs is less mindless yapping from people who only know what they are told. Use your brain…it’s what keeps you upright and breathing…don’t deny it the actual purpose it serves…feed it real information and not internet posts.
